Davey Dreamnation releases “Hot Soup Girl” b-side

[14 May 2002]

Following hot on the heels of his phenomenal first single, “Hot Soup Girl”, Davey Dreamnation has confounded all public expectations by releasing a b-side, entitled, fittingly enough, “Davium”.

“Yeah,” the popular but enigmatic entertainer announced today through his Esperanto-fluent interpreter, “I’ve discovered this new element, it’s called Davium. It’s so rare and so miniscule, it doesn’t even have a half-life. Up until now it hasn’t even had a name. That’s where I came in.”

When asked by the NME to respond to allegations that the strangely eerie song, clocking in at roughly two and a half minutes, is in fact just a mindless piece of twaddle, Dreamnation apparently slammed down the phone in his Miami condo, before picking it up again, only to dial the number of the local police.

Dreamnation says he hopes the song will foster greater cooperation in the international scientific community.
