0600 - godawful paranoid about life in general (as secure as it gets)
0660 - probably all you need
0666 - allows anyone to read and write files in the $FILES directory
0755 - probably insecure
0777 - shooting yourself in the foot insecure

Umm, let’s see, 7 (other) x 7 (group) x 7 (user) and 3 options for the first digit. I make that 1029 options :)
