In news that’s sure to raise the levels of dams all over the country, the Queensland Poetry Festival program has been uploaded onto their website.

Here’s what you can expect this September:

The Queensland Poetry Festival: spoken in one strange word is proud to announce full details of its 2007 programme. This year will feature international artists Shane Koyczan, QLD’s inaugural Poet-in-Residence, Jacqueline Turner and Matt Rader (Canada); Karlo Mila (New Zealand) and The Belfast Poets (Ireland) as well as some of this country’s finest poets, spoken word artists and songwriters including Jamie Hutchings (Bluebottle Kiss), John Tranter, Esther Ottaway, Matt Hetherington, Louise Waller, Steve Kilbey (The Church), Karen Knight, David Prater and many more.

I’ll be making two appearances at the festival: one performance as well as an official launch for We Will Disappear. Here’s the details:

Sat September 8, 7:30pm – 8:30pm

“The Library of Wigs” featuring Maiden Speech and David Prater
MC: David Stavanger

Sunday September 9, 10:00am – 11:45am

Papertiger Media Launch featuring David Prater, MTC Cronin & Barry Hill + Reading by Luke Beesley
MC: Brett Dionysius

Both events are free and will be held at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts in Fortitude Valley. You can find out more about the rest of the festival on the QPF website.

While I’m really not sure what “The Library of Wigs” refers to, I’m looking forward to seeing all you banana-benders there, and sharing a mango and peanut daiquiri.
