This ICOCA rechargeable public transport card turned out to be really handy: we bought it for use in the Kansai area (Osaka, Kyoto etc) but it was also valid in Tokyo, Hiroshima and a few other places as well. FYI, the real ICOCA mascot is a platypus named Ico. Srly.
