As with a great part of Japanese society and culture, at Kenrokuen it’s all about attention to detail. The trimming on hedges; the sweeping of leaves; the coaxing of a pine tree out onto a series of pillars planted in the water. This must have taken years to complete. The effect, on a beautiful day, is stunning.
