Following the rise and fall this week of one of Melbourne’s most sensational pop trios, Davey Dreamnation, enigmatic pop ironist and rumoured scientologist, announced today (again through an interpreter) details of his forthcoming tour of the Northern Territory.

Despite the fact that he is no longer a member of The Spirit Levels, Davey has assembled a new band, recorded an album, secured support slots and booked venues for a massive ten day top end “Rocking the Casuarina” tour, all within twenty four hours of going solo.

“Davey Dreamnation respects the artistic abilities of his former band mates Jo Bailey and Julia Ormond, but asks that they do not consider touring the top end for at least a fortnight, until such time as Davey has finished his own “barnestorming” tour, ironed out the kinks in his stage routines and booked himself a one way ticket to Budokan, where he plans to record a live album,” the interpreter said.

Sources close to the self-confessed “weirdo” have confirmed that Davey is suffering from delusional episodes, and believes himself to be the reincarnation of Jim Croce. “The artist himself, of course, denies this,” claims one insider, with a shake of the head. “But he’s nuts. I mean, who else would go to the NT without even so much as releasing a single Screaming Jets cover? There’s heaps of material there. You know, and I know better.”
